can the intake come off in 1 piece?
is it possible to remove the tpi system in 1 piece or do i have to take the runners off then everything else? and a little side question can any gen1 intake manifold bolt on and line up with the intake and exhaust ports?

I think some of the base bolts cannot be removed with the runners in place, so no you cant take it off in one piece.
Not sure what you're asking about exhaust ports, but the locations of the bolts on a SBC pretty much never changed. The 87-up heads have the center 4 bolts at a different angle but thats something you can work around.

82-86 & 87+. The early TPIs on a standard head with the perimeter bolt valve covers. In 87, they went to the center bolt valve covers. When they switched, so did the intake bolts. 87+ can go on older blocks, just like doing the LT1 intake conversion....It can be done.

so i have to take the runners off, ok thanks and so i cant order just any carb intake manifold form summit?

Any non-Vortec carb manifold will work. Just make sure you get the right center bolt angle.
