My brother in law called me this morning and asked me if I wanted his 84 firebird race car. It is a strip only car. He built the car 18 years ago and it has been sitting 8 of those years. When I was 16 he ran it at the track with consistent low 11 passes. Only thing I know about the motor is it is a 355. I am looking to put a milder cam in it and possibly put the tpi from 305 on it to keep fuel injection. I am going to pull the motor this weekend and drop it off to a local speed shop and let them tear the motor to pieces and make sure there isn't any rust inside and replace all gaskets and basic things that could go wrong from sitting. Anything else y'all might foresee that I need to tend to. Seems like a straight swap from a 3rd gen pontiac to 3rd gen camaro.
