replacing a fuel pressure regulator

when i replace my fpr, do i pull it from the rubber thing and screw down the new with the 6 screws? when i tried to remove it, it would nt come lose from diaphram i think it is... its a orange flexible rubber peice between the fpr and bracket on fuel rail..

yes, that is what you do, but you need to bleed the pressure from the rail first. Most likely, those screws are tamper proof. I ended up having to go to my local Sears to get a tamper proof socket that worked. Most likely the top of the regulator will be seated to the diaphram (the orange flexible piece) from heat over the years. Just pry it with a small screwdriver and it should come off.
