Okay, I see that LSx springs can fit in standard SBC heads with the use of Comp Cams 787-16 retainers, which is awesome since I have stock LS2 (LS6) springs sitting on the shelf from the cam install in my GTO.
I'm putting these springs and those retainers in my cousin's Firebird along with a Crane 2032 cam that we grabbed for free. My question is this: can the heads tolerate this cam/spring combo with 1.6 rockers, or should I maintain the 1.5 ratio? With 1.6 rockers, the ratio is brought up to .482/.496.
I know in stock form the heads can handle up to .480, but I would think the Beehives would allow for a higher lift to be achieved in terms of clearances.
I guess I should drill and tap the heads for screw-in studs, as well.
