TPI intake difference?

I have heard there is a difference in intakes from Corvette, Trans Am, and Camaro... Is there a difference and if so which is the best. Sorry if this is a repost but I didnt find anything on this.

The reason I am asking is I have a chance at a top end off a 85 Corvette and just wondering if it is worth it.

Re: TPI intake difference?

and corvettes always had 90deg bolts going to the heads. The dizzy cover on vettes is aluminum too instead of plastic. Stuff was moved for the camaro, TPI was designed for the C4 vette, the dizzy cover fits perfectly in the firewall on those cars.

OOPS, was thinking LT-1 vs L-98. Brain fart. Anyway, the feed and return lines are different, Corvette goes down passenger side, F-Body to drivers side.

Re: TPI intake difference?

The biggest difference, that nobody touched on, is the difference in the intake bolt angles between 84-86 & 87-92. Which means the early Corvette TPI manifolds will not fit the later Corvettes or F-bodies, without extra work.

Perimeter bolt valve cover heads use a difference bolt angle that the center bolt heads. The difference can be overcome, but that are not 100% interchangeable with the extra work done to make the intake manifold to block bolts work.
