Need clarification on breather

Ok, I've got an 87 IROC 5.7 recently acquired. During my cleaning up process, I took the valve covers off to polish. replaced the pcv valve on the left side. I've got aftermarket breather caps that you have to take apart to replace the valve. When I took the right side breather off, I noticed that it has a pcv valve in it also. I didn't think that was required on both sides. Can anyone confirm? I'm not sure I explained this very well.

Only one side should have the valve in it.

That's what I thought. Thanks for confirming.
