Engine: SBC 350, mild cam Vortec heads
Transmission: Rebuilt 700R4 vette servo+shift kit
Axle/Gears: 3.73
car seems weak
I have an 87 z28 with what is supposed to be a new rebuilt motor from Napa 350 tpi i mean 5-7k miles on the build max but the car seems weak to me off the line. and the trans is a freshly rebuilt 700r4 like 3 weeks old it just feels like i have no torque at all any ideas what to check out? or anyonein the ct area got a stock tpi 350 wanna take me for a spin in there car to knwo if its just how they are

i used to drive my parents 87 vette 350 tpi i know two completly different cars but that car had some power behind it and thats what i am going by for my judgement atm

I see you have no clue on the gears? I would at least drop the rear end cover and look at the stamps on the ring gear, probably needs the rear end grease changed anyway. At that time find out if it's a 9 or 10 bolt rear end. A 2.77 gear ratio or similar will not preform as good as a 3.23 or 3.27 or higher.

you say a rebuilt trans do you know if it has a high stall converter, no power could be a number of things or combination of things can you provide more info on the car, condition and parts.

well as far as condition as i said the power train is basically all fresh builds i dont know about the converter i could call the tranny guy to ask him about it i have edlebrock headers msd wires not sure what else i can tell you i dont know what gears are in the rear i can link the attributes of the rebuilt engine

oh and a 3 inch exhaust all the way from the headers to the flowmaster in the rear
