Evap Canister

I am pulling my 305 TPI motor out of my 85 iroc z and putting it in my 84. My question is do i need the evap canister or can i just bypass it? The less i have to have in there the better. Thanks in advanced.

If your in a state that has emission laws you have to keep it on there.
If your not...toss it in the trash. all the electrial, tape that up, and the lines, plug them or bypass them.

I think you'll need a vented gas cap if you get rid of the canister. Tank has to breath somehow.

Re: Evap Canister

I relocated mine to below the tray, instead of above the tray. I fabbed up some brackets from some aluminum stock, added some wire and vaccuum line and that was it. Took about an hour.

Re: Evap Canister

I do not have to worry about emissions because it is over 25 years old. I dont want to hook it all up if its not needed. isnt the tank vented?
