Never had a car newer then 1972 so I am a serious green horn here.

Could someone tell me (even ballpark) what a new fuel pump will run on this 1991 Z-28 please? Don't need installation costs just the part cost and if there are any brands to steer clear of.

about $100. I would convert to external fuel pump just to make future changes easier. dropping the tank on a thirdgen isn't fun. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MSD-2225/

 

My buddy who sold me the car said there was an factory acess hole and probably didn't have to drop the tank.

Sounds like he got me on that one. How big a pain is dropping that tank?This will be my very first one.

its not hard its time consuming... i say get a delco or delphi if you plan on keeping it stock and keep it in take, imo

 

Yeh, I better stay stock until I learn a little more about these engines.It only has 45,000 original miles and has lots of comfort options. I am sure it will have plenty of power and handle like it is on rails compared to my early 70's GM with 7.5 Liter.Hope it gets better gas mileage too ha ha (that 455 gets THIRSSSSSSSSSSSTEEE!)
