rocker arm question

im am trying to install a set of 1.6 rocker ars on my sbc it has ceterbolt heads would i need some guideplates or will it be just fine the cam is stock also thanks

You'll probably have to elongate holes in the head where the push rods come through. You won't have to run screw-in studs and guide plates, IMO.

As long as they are self-aligning rockers, you don't need guides.
What are you doing for springs? The stock ones won't handle the 1.6's.

I just did the GM 1.6's and they work great. No guide plates needed (if they are self aligning like LeeH said)

Just bolt them in. tighten to 0 lash (basically when the pushrod goes from easy to spin to hard to spin with your fingers) then give them 3/4 turn more and lock the center locks.
