1.6 roller rockers

I have a 1990 IROC with the L98, headers and 3" exhaust. This weekend I'm putting a HSR with 24lb injectors and while I had everthing off I want to install some 1.6 roller rockers that I have left over from my LT1 build. The head is stock along with the factory cam. Will the 1.6 RR work with the stock springs? Should I wait until later this summer when I plan on installing the new heads along with an LT4 hotcam that I have laying around? Will I have to reprogram the factory prom now? I wanted to wait and program the prom after the head and cam install later this year. Any comments will be useful and thanks in advance.

Re: 1.6 roller rockers

you have probly already done this, judging by the date of the post, but i would not waste your time with those 1.6's until you change the cam. you might be ok with the stock cam, but i don't know that for sure, as far as clearance for the rods goes... i know that when i put that same cam in mine, the heads required some machining to accomodate the higher lift...

Re: 1.6 roller rockers

My pushrods were binding in the slot where they come through the heads with the 1.6's. I used a Louis tool to clearence the head slots.
