will a disconnected egr suffocate my engine?

after i got my intake manifold gasket redone my car has been stalling at every stop light and now just when i go from in gear to neutral or clutch disengaged. when i got my car back from the shop i noticed that my egr connector was no longer attatched, could this be my problem?

if the egr was disconnected while it was stuck open, it would give you a rough idle and possibly stall at idle (really depends how open it was) but youd notice this problem immediately after you started the car, if your car is stalling after its been warmed up, id say check elsewhere, possibly ignition coil, ignition module, or IACV
