Cam help for 4x4 TPI

Wassup guys
Sooooooo after a lot of research, asking questions, getting answers and opinions I am now ready to swap my 1988 l98 8 engine code TPI engine from my old iroc into my 85 k5 blazer and have decided to just go with a more aggressive cam.
I am going to be using the truck for My 14 hour trips to Mexico and racing up sand hills, occasional trips to pismo and racing against my friends trucks. So I'm looking to get the most out of all my RPM ranges especially bottom end but I don't wanna go to take my heads to the machine shop. So biggest cam without modifying heads.
Any opinions and input is great I will b starting this project in about a month I'm just trying to get everything ready
Thanks in advance!

Re: Cam help for 4x4 TPI

HAS this engine still have the TPI manifold? If so question answered.Stick with a cam suited for the RPM of the manifold,no higher than 5000 RPM.RULE of thumb most blower, nitros, and 4X4 cams run lobe sep. angle at 114 degrees.Good idle and torque. If you need reasons ,read up on a topic called pulse res.
