ac delete

Another question. After removing the smog pump, i now want to remove the AC also.
The smog pump belt is not the same as the ac.
The ac belt is also connected to the power steering and waterpump if i remember correctly.
Do i need another belt or a delete pulley?

Re: ac delete

I took of my ac and smog pump also..
I am only running two belts..
The 1st belt I have the alternator, with the water pump, and crank pulley..
The 2nd belt I have the power steering pump, with the water pump, and crank pulley..

Reason why I did this was because after experiementing with different ways I can run the belts this was the only way I could of run it.. because my alternator belt would come of, not anymore

If you want a pic let me know I can post one
I could also go with a shorter belt

Re: ac delete

Thanks. I have a 3 belt setup on this moment.
What did you do with the connection bar between power steering pump and the ac compressor?

By removing your smog pump did it throw off your computer at all?

Re: ac delete

I haven't started the engine yet. I am waiting for a pair of Hooker 2460 headers and then i am going to build a stainless dual exhaust system.
If i read the topic of the pump it should't give a code but you never know.

Re: ac delete

You'll have to share if it effects the computer or not. The only reason I asked was because I know with some of the tpi engines it causes misreadings and does more harm than good to remove it. I'm trying to figure out a way to modify the computer or to make it run normal without the smog pump.
