too much gas usage /high idle
heres the prob i put it in drive let off the brake and it goes like 15 miles an hour w/o touching the gas pedal. then it uses like a 1/4 tank just to go 10 miles away. i tested tps and it reads.54, the guy before me put an adjustable fuel regulator on it but i dont know if its at the right pressure. and the base timing is set at 6. ive checked timing like 4 times and every time its at 6. and lastly the guy before put mustang injectors in it ?

Check the fuel pressure first, you can get a fuel pressure tester and do it yourself and it's pretty easy. I'm not sure about the injectors.

I'm having a similar issue, although my idle is absolutely perfect. I just switched to the Bosch III injectors, and notice the gas gauge is moving while driving. Took an 8th tank to go 15 miles. Not sure what the deal is.

You may want find out what size injectors were installed. If the previous owner installed 30lb/hr injectors it would eat a lot more fuel. The car would smell completely rich, even to the point of fouling the spark plugs.
How does the car run?
Check this too, the minimum air rate.

Yes, i would verify fuel pressure, get yourself a gauge and set the pressure to 43.5 psi. If you have an AFPR. I would also verify injector size like another member stated. If he put Mustang injectors on it, they could be Ford SVO 24 lb/hr. Those will make it run too rich and you will waste gas. If so, lower your fuel pressure about a pound and a half. That should help. A 24 lb/hr injector with fuel pressure of about 42 psi is like running stock 22lb injectors at 50 psi. I would say 50 psi is about the max one would want to raise their pressure to

Also, if your injectors are bigger than the stock 22lb/hr. Your car will need a tune. I probably gained 5 mpg or more by getting my chip tuned. I am running Ford 24 lb/hr

The blue ones are Ford 24lb/hr. You will really need to get the chip tuned for it to run correctly. Or, turning down you fuel pressure is one way to do it ,but that is not the proper way. I believe at 43.5 psi of fuel you should set the injector flow rate to 25.81 for Ford 24lb.
