Removing The Plenum

Hey guys, I had a quick question.

I need to pull the plenum off my motor in order to change out the IAT sensor and my stupid Haynes manual makes no mention of the plenum that I can find. After I remove the throttlebody, is it as simple as removing all the plenum to runner bolts and lifting the plenum up from between the runners or must one of the runners be removed as well?

Also, I am thinking the gaskets should still be good to be re-used. They are the felpro kind with the steel inserts and have only about 15k miles on them. What would your take on this be?

Re: Removing The Plenum

Yes, it can be done that way, but I would recommend at least loosening the bottom runner bolts otherwise you run the risk of damaging those gaskets

yeah I'd do it that way too. loosening the bottom runner bolts works great.

Snug is more than enough. Going into aluminum like that, with such a coarse thread, those bolts will be fine if just cinched down. You don't want to strip them.

I read 25 ft/lbs is the proper spec.
