Cam timing -4,0,+4????? Stock LB9
Hello, I have a 1988 305 TPI engine with about 80k on the clock. I am in the middle of replacing the head gaskets and I figured while I am this far into the engine it would be a good idea to replace the timing chain and gears. I bought a cloyes double roller 9-3145. I also have a set of comp cams 1.6:1 full roller rockers to install if this makes a difference. From the research I have done I can't come to a definitive answer about how to set the cam timing. stock or four degrees either way. I have a t56 behind engine with 3.08 gears. I am running stock exhaust manifolds and exhaust, MSD coil and distributor. I cruise 70 mph at 1750 rpms. I rarely take the engine above four grand and want all of the drivability I currently have. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Is there any negative side effects from setting the cam timing advance four degrees? Issues with computer or anything else? From what I understand this should increase low end torque, correct?
