113 L98 heads

"in 1988 GM switched the Corvette to the 10088113 casting "D-Port" aluminum cylinder heads. These were good for just over 350hp before you had to start working them."

Is there anyone who put these heads on a totally stock LB9 ? (1989)
I'd love to save the 50lbs, but I'm not concerned with b@lls out performance, cause it's a factory stock LB9

Just not sure it's worth the effort, as I know I should see some improvement, but then I have to delete the EGR, etc.

what else is involved ? has anyone done this on an otherwise stock 305. with factory exhaust manifolds ?

Re: 113 L98 heads

Note that these heads use the old format mounting bolt pattern to the heads. So either need to change the TPI base to a y-body base. Or elongate the holes in the stock base.

They take a long reach (3/4") flat gasket spark plug. So be sure to change to them.

They have a 58CC chamber, so by using a thin head gasket can retain the compression ratio.

IIRC, they are missing a mounting hole on the end of the head, but it doesn't seem to be required.

They have guide plates, but they are an assembly aid. So leave them in place and continue to use SA rockers.
