How is this possible? Factory intake, heads, injectors and chip?

Well ported heads/intake can make power and run good times in great air conditions. I see he has runners atleast, as the factory runners are terrible for flow.
factory base surprises me tho, even ported I didnt think it could support the power needed for that kinda speed.
Vettes always seem to run quicker than fbody's with similar mods. Not sure why, as they arent really any lighter in weight. Perhaps that car has been gutted out alittle?
Probably need 350whp in optimal conditions to trap 116 at a decent raceweight. On a cold day at Englishtown, I can see it happening. Those ported heads and cam can do 350whp if everything else is right. Looks like a well thought out combination. And theres no way thats stock chip. That car has been extensively tuned.

He did not say what mods were done to the factory intake. A little welding here and there and it could be opened up to match the aftermarket runners. Dr J had a set of 113 heads that had been ported and put on a boat motor that made 500hp. I agree with Orr, on a cold day at Englishtown with mineshaft air and a well thought out combination it could be done. I give the guy a lot of credit for maximizing his combination.

Yeah thats Great Lakes Dragaway in Wisconsin and obviously during a cold month due to all the people wearing heavy jackets. At an altitude of 720 ft on a cold day, its likely he had better than sealevel air. That really helps a car move. That combination does well for what it is, not to take anything away from it.
