injector retaining clips

I have just removed the fuel rail and trying to get the retaining clips off the fuel injectors to remove them, do you pinch em together or pull them out or just pull the whole injector out.

each clip has a little tang sticking off the side. You either rotate it from left to right, or right to left, I honestly can't remember which!

or a flat head screw driver. Carefull though. The rail is aluminum and can be easily damaged.
