Hey guys I'm new to this site but from looking around it seems to be the site to go for tpi questions. Ive had a few tpi camaros in the past but now I own a 02 ls1 camaro. Anyways I'm helping a friend install a 305 t.p.i in a 30 model a ford pickup. One of the many roadblocks we are hitting is a air filter setup. The problem is there isn't much room in front of the throttle plate. I'm hoping somebody makes a setup that comes out to a t with 2 filters. If not does anybody make a setup that goes 90 degrees straight out of the throttle body. Not real interested in the cold air kits that go down the fendrwells. I hope this makes sense lol. Anyways here is a pic of what we are working on. I know it dosent show the area of the air filter but Its the only picture on my computer. Maybe if i get time to go over there tomorrow ill get better pics

Get the factory air cleaner off of a 85-92 trans am with factory tpi. They come out and turn to the passenger side.

Those are both good ideas but not exactly what I had in mind. Here is some pics I have found on the net. Only problem is these are for the ls1.

P.s Im not really worried about performance gain as this is just going to be a cruiser and take to car shows type of truck. So Im just looking for something cool looks wise.

I know exactly what your talking about wanting. A guy i know custom made his through spectreperformance.com. They have a ton of parts and y-pipes like that, then you throw on your filters at the end and your good to go. Here is a photo of his on a tpi engine:

Damn thats a good looking engine. I finally gave up and just ordered a k&n cone filter that clamps straight to the throttle body. Jegs offered them specifically for the tpi. I know this truck is no camaro but if yall are interested ill post picks and updates as we come along on it. The chasis is part vette and part 3rd gen camaro. The body is a 30 ford with a 5.0 tpi and a t5 tranny. Should be a pretty cool ride when its done.

Filter mounted directly to the TB is what I was going to suggest for your 30, but that will only work if it is a TPI with MAP not MAF. What year is your TPI?

Yeah I got the filter in today I think it will look good. The engine came out of a wrecked 91 I belive. Anyways whatever year it was it dosent have a maf sensor. Like I said this is actually my buddies project Im just helping hm round up some parts. I will ask him though what year model the engine came out of. On another note peeking around all these tpi websites and seeing all the clean 3rd gens is really making me miss some of mine I had years ago. I love my 02 ls1 but I love the looks of a clean 3rd gen. Maybe I should find a 3rd gen with a ls1 swap done right then Ill have the best of both worlds.

What you got. I got a 02 auto 59k pretty much imaculate. White with chrome z06 wheels,leather,t-tops etc.... Probably worth 10-11k

I got a 87 IROC, Brand new 5.7 350. Decked out in RHS heads, Edelbrock Headers, Miniram Intake 42# injectors, stud girldes,1.6 ratio rocker arms. Its an Auto also. 700r4 build with 3000 stall converter. Corvette Z06 wheels, black with a chrome lip.
