hey everyone, i have an 86 t/a, rewiring it to drop a tpi,i have a computer from an 89, and a wiring from an 87, the wiring doesnt have a wire for a vats, but the 89 computer is from a car that had it, is it gonna be looking for that signal to start the car? if so is there something to do to remove that from the ecm?

yes it will. If you use that ecu it will need to be reflashed to eliminate VATS.
Which year TPI set up are you using? If it has a cold start injector than it would probably be easier to just get a computer from an 87

its aftermarket,no 9th injector, and i already have wiring from 87 but i deleted the 9th injector, egr, smog stuff etc, i have 3 computers a 87 an 88 and an 89,but they are all the same exept the chip right? i have a good 89 burnt chip with cold start delete, but it had vats, the other 2 are stock ,but as far as i have a chip burnt for what i need exactly, and harness set up for my needs, those 3 computers are the same right? exept the chip,or prom or whatever they call it.

So long as they are MAP TPI ones.Originally Posted by kreator33

The tune on the memcal ( chip ) determines what engine/intake it works on.
