thank you soooo much lol just wondering would it be easier for me to just get it all from another 3rd gen or what would be the best way!/ and do i have to change my entake!?
Re: i have a question about a swap please help
Why would you invest the money to upgrade to a system that's all but obsolete? TPI would look cool, but it's not going to gain you anything else.

well i was told that id gain hp and torque and get better gas milage and i heard it was ALOT better then tbi so i figured it was worth a shot
Re: i have a question about a swap please help
You might gain a little torque. TPI cars had (in general) flat top pistons, more aggressive camshafts, better flowing exhausts, and better gears. All of that in addition to the TPI made the TPI 305 about a second faster then the TBI version. Just swapping the intake is going to make such a small difference, you probably won't be able to feel it from behind the steering wheel.

Well... I own a TPI car and in my opinion it is better than TBI by far. Not to mention it's a very simple swap since it's really all stock components.
As automobiles progressed over the years they had a learning process where they steadily got better. Sure, some of the "improvements" sucked but that was because it was still in a more or less experimental stage. It only get's better, TPI is a worthy swap.
A carburetor set-up, though it could be labeled a step backwards is also doable and in my own personal opinion with no facts to back it up, is better than TBI.

Notice, no one is swapping to TBI?
Yet my vote still goes to TPI.
