MAF Differences
I was looking around at different MAF sensors and noticed that some manufacturers list the same part number from 86-89, while others show a separate listing for 86-87 and 88-89. AC Delco shows 213-163 for 86-87 and 213-3418 for 88-89. Standard Ignition MF4712 covers 86-87 and MF5877 covers 88-89. Yet Cardone's 74-4712 covers 86-89. Aftermarket units that do not use the heated wire list one part number for 86-89.
Is there some subtle difference in the electronics? Does the change over have to do with the change in relays to the oval style? I can not see any differences in the external case. But there clearly has to be a reason they would list different part numbers for different years.
I have used both and did not notice any difference in performance. Is there any reason to chose one over the other?

Re: MAF Differences
All MAF sensors work in the same manner. Except for the adjustable ones which I believe control the heated wire. Get a Bosch. Its cheaper and its really what you need.
