? first tpi port & polish yay or nay

I keep getting mixed replies from other sources, so who better to ask than the third gen. folks. Getting on with the point. When gasket matching my intake I noticed some pretty rough casting on the base ports and I want to smoothen things out. When I port this thing how smooth can I go. Can I polish or would it need to stay a little rough.

Oh yeah this is going on a semi built 355 w/ untouched g1 twisted wedge heads. And will be doing a coil per cylinder ls1 conversion. Woried about fuel air mixture? More of a street engine but a little weekend warrior. People say I can go as smooth as a babies **** but others say I will have issues if I go to smooth.
