just a quick cam question
i have a motor from a 91 camaro. i just tore it down to do a rebuild. got to the lifters and there not roller but it looks like a stock gm cam.
is this normal? or was it a cam swap or motor swap. ill get the block numbers and cam numbers in a hour or so

Is it a roller cam block ;
does it have the machined pads above the lifter bores and the three threaded mounts for the lifter retainer as shown in pic below?
If it doesn't then it is a flat tappet block which would explain the lifters.
If it is a roller block , could be a truck engine that used a roller block but came fitted with flat tappet cam at the factory
or some PO has swapped a flat tappet cam in

Thanks for your reply it is not a roller block it doesent have the pads for the lifter retainers. But its a newer block it doesent have opening for a mechanical fuel pump and it has center bolt heads. So maybe its a repacement motor or a truck motor? Who know with these older cars and many owners lol

probably a truck motor. one piece rear main right? they're still good motors, i'd take a flat tappet 350 over a roller 305.
