L98 gear ratio opinions?
L98 gear ratio opinions?
I've got an 89 Iroc with a 700r. I plan to add a stealthram before long, a set of headers and full exhaust, and maybe later on heads and cam. Mainly just bolt ons for now but I'm just wondering what would be the ideal gear ratio for a TPI L98. Someone has all ready got rid of the 9 bolt and I've got a set of 28 spline axles, a 2002 carrier, and a set of 3.23s, 3.42s, and 3.73s. What do you guys think?

Re: L98 gear ratio opinions?
3.42 is the ideal tpi gear to me. I have those in my IROC and I like them. My 91 Corvette had 3.55s, and that car hooked hard and accelerated like a missile.
