My wife has a 86 trans am 305 tpi its running like crap even at idle i put new plugs wires cap rotor coil pvc.So i took the plugs out today all of them and they all have black carbon and wet and smell like fuel. What could it be i have been told a lot of thing like the mass airflow snsor or the dizzy fuel reg cold start injector there is no check engine light expect when you just turn the key on. I really need help to get this fixed in new to the tpi forms i have a 92 firebird tbi 305 and i dont have any problems like that my car runs perfect my wifes car is a 86 tpi auto with 3.27 posi rearend

I bet your injectors are leaking. How long does the fuel rail hold fuel pressure after the engine is stopped? Measure the ohms for each injector, they should all be around 16 (0 indicates a short in the injector).
