There's a adjusting screw on the side by the throttle cable that you adjust to rise the idle speed. Actually works pretty much like a Carb would. Its a small flat head screw. If you can find it post up later and I will post a picture of mine to help you out

You need to either do this in field service mode by jumping the aldl a to b to command in the iac. you can go into diagnostic mode and then unplug the iac and then set the min air speed. If this has never been done a welch plug on the lh side of the tb will need to be removed.

What he's saying is that: you must put the cars computer in field service mode in order to make adjustments. There should be a connector right next to your right knee when sitting in the drivers seat. That is the aldl port connector. You must run a wire from port a to b to place the computer in field service mode to make the adjustment.

Re: how do i adjust my idle speed on 305 tpi?

I still don't see how any of this changes idle speed. Idle speed is dictated in the chip, all the stuff tuned has recommended only sets the minimum throttle opening. You CANNOT idle the engine up 200rpm without changing the chip, period.

Re: how do i adjust my idle speed on 305 tpi?

this is just the min idle speed adjustment, correct the ecm will control the iac or a controlled vacuum leak through the tb. The idle speed is referenced off the programing idle speed vs coolant temp.

thanks to both of you two!!! it makes sense now...i guess it lets you adjust things and then the computer will learn to accept the change when i unjumper it. is that also where you can check eng codes? my ses light is on.....i was thinking it was because the PO took the cat off or maybe my tps sensor being bad. my rpms move around between 500 and 1500 at different times when at a red light.
