What IAC to use.... Need advice!!!
I know that someone out has got to know the difference between the IAC for the different years…
I think I may need a new IAC but not sure what one I need. I have a 87’ TPI unit and TB for that year, but converted to a speed density utilizing the 1227730 ECU. This is my question and I cant see to get a solid answer.
On 85-88 IROC they used they used an IAC (Standard part number AC-1) and on the 89-92 they use IAC (Standard part number AC-16). The cost between the two IAC is about 60 bucks. But more importantly I am not sure what one I should be using for my converted system.
I am thinking that I need the AC-16 for the speed density system for the computer to read the signal correctly… then again I am thinking that I need the AC-1 for the pinnacle to extend/contract the distances needed for the IAC housing.
Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

I am also dealing with this, I bought a '87 IAC for a '87 system and it didn't work, bought one for the '90-'92 and it worked fine.
