Ram Air Filter
Hey everyone. Every since I have owned this car, it came with an aftermarket Ram Air hood. It had a cobbled K&N filter in it so I have been looking for years for a decent after market Air filter without having to pay $100+ dollars for a used LT type filter or $210+ dollars for a Ram Air filter such as on Hawks site. I'm sure they are good quality filters, but I always look for a "sweet" deal somewhere. So after cruising ebay last week, I found this aftermarket Astro van Ram Air filter from CA. This is exactly what I was looking for, It has a coarse foam on the outside with a denser foam on the inside with wire screen to hold it's shape. Now I also have a place to relocate IAT to the frame of the filter. The only issue with the new filter I had was it is shipped with a pretty heavy oil on it. I washed it out in Dawn dish soap and Shout detergent, and it cleaned up great. Installation was a snap. It comes with the mounting boot and clamps and rest's on the radiator support, It remains solid and didn't smash when I closed the hood because of the clearance in the hood. I had previously opened up the Ram Air openings further under the hood for more air flow. As for what I paid? How's $26 shipped.
