I have a salvage titled camaro that seems to be a meld of several different years. It is a map car, tpi, and I believe a 305. I have a code 43. I've checked the wiring to the knock sensor and get the 5v reference voltage. I've replaced the knock sensor as well. This car also has VATs which I bypassed....I mention this if it helps identify the year of the motor. Since I bypassed the vats the car now starts slowly but does run ok. Smells rich, mileage has suffered. The timing is at 6 as recommended. Any ideas?

 

I also should mention that I needed injectors about two years ago when I thought my engine was a 350. I put 21 lb injectors in. All the issues I had at that point were fixed. Now I realize the car should have 19 lb injectors in it, but the code 43 is recent. I'm not sure if it would contribute to my current issue or not.
