Camshafts????
I have a stock 88 gta. I know the camshaft for this car is a lb9 "Hot" peanut cam.
What I wanted to know is, What benefit is an LT1 cam compared to the stock cam? Generally is it worth it?
My cam is 207/213 415/430 117
Lt1 cam I'm looking at is 202/207 450/460 116
I was curious, are the factory durations listed, Adv duration, or .050 duration?
if so is there any gains to running a shorter duration, tighter lca, and more lift? In comparison to what it packs now?
These are important questions I need answers to. It will help me make choice on whether to change cams right now.

Re: Camshafts????
IMO: not worth it. A set of 1.6 rockers will help your stock cam.

Re: Camshafts????
I've factored that in. From my gathering if I do the math right.
.415/.430 / 1.5 = .276/.286 so.
1.5 = .415/.430
1.6 = .441/.457
1.7 = .469/.486
Now also CC Mag has proven, by actually measuring, increasing the RR, you will increase the duration.
Second these cams use split lifts and Durations to compensate the poor exhaust flow. Which is why its increased on the exhaust side.
But still the questions remain:
How does the factory list the Duration? By Adv duration, or by .050 duration?
Would I loose buy switching the cams?
