Changing ECU On 87 350tpi L98

i was wondering if there is anything specific i have to do after replacing the ecu on my 87 Camaro 5.7 350tpi.. reason being is because it would crank and start with old one now this new one it just cranks and cranks.. why am i changing it? because i was told it had a short & and thats why my tps didnt have no power at all & stay ideling at 400+.. thanks for looking.

ecu is used and the chip in it is used aswell. stock delco chip.
would i just have to swap chip from my ecu to the one i bought?

main question. if the ecu was bad would the car even start?

You have to use the cars orginal chip. Not the one from the "new" ECM.
Unless you got super lucky and its the same chip.
