New Build Project 88 IROC
Hello,
Man I am excited to be back in the Fbody world (am I crazy lol) Well I am 40 and have disposable income and have built several fun car projects in the past few years. But I have been looking to get into a v8 again. I hope this is in the right forum but I figure I track my build/resto update.

Interior needs TLC dash carpet stereo wiring for alarm is hack job. steering column is shot. But car kicks off nicely. Tranny is shot, needs tune up and radiator but overall body is straight looks damage free small rust on ttop beam whicvh I will replace. The bosy still looks all original even under the back quarters still see original GM stickers and decal. Looks like a great find.
ok my build and tips.
My Build Why:
I had 3 F-bodys in the 88-95. 88 Bird, 89 Iroc, both stock and then a 92 RS L03 TBI 305 T-5 That I did Trickflow, headers, zz4 cam chip, 3.73, ignition, and 100hp shot. All motor: I was doing 9.3-9.5 at 79-80mph with hard time to launch on NOS I would do 8.6-8.7
1/4mi: 14.3-14.5 99mph motor 13.8 NOS 105mph again had hard time launching right all on street tires. I remember ultimately before I was off I felt My tune was off but I had no money and computer tuning was still $$ back in 93. I receently built a 88 300ZX turbo from similair condition to fun cruiser and I really just want the same ith this build.
My Goals:
Fun second cruiser commute to work or beach car. Will repaint red, rims, and do the interior myself new carpet, recloth seats, get wiring and stereo dialed in maybe ICE down the road with iphone setup. And to start with that fuirst just get the 305 TPI running right to tune. I am figuring small simple bolts on but ultimately after my lo3 experience I loved the car but with $5k in the engine and mods I was at the time beating stock LT1 barely. It was great street car and probably beat or hang with most cars still today for redlights but top end I got walked on by mild lt1 and imagine all LS1 today. SO my goal is to fun TPI setup that has the LOOK and SOUND of a V* rumble cruise all NA I be more then ahppy with mid 200HP to the RW 250+ be fun but more I am a Torque guy I just want the seat pinned back feel from redlights and short stomps on the gas. I am not too worried about my 1/4mi et I just rather have fun 0-60 street car that will beat or hang with new cars in that area.

Yes not too much, lol. But i have a budget. I got car cheap. I figure with paint for 1600-2000 and then if engine runs then 1000 in tune up and exhaust and 1000 for interior i will be under my budget with nice daily and wont be too upside down
