About a month ago I posted about a performance problem I was having with my 305 TPI.
Motor: Fresh rebuild, new everything including injectors.
Problem: at about 3000rpm motor would "flatten out" and not accelerate any more. Acted like it was running out of fuel.
Troubleshot: Fuel pressure, timing, vacuum, temp sensor, idle air valve, everything I could think of. All good.
Gave up and took it to my local FI shop. They put it on the chassis dyno and found spark was not advancing beyond about 10 deg. total. Putting out a whopping 60hp.Found out the wire that was supposed to signal the ign. module to advance spark was broken at the computer.
Wire fixed, problem SOLVED.
Dynoed 150 hp. and 218 lb ft torque at the rear wheels. Translates to about 200 hp. & 290 lb ft. at the crank which I think is in the ball park for this stock 86' mouse motor. No barn burner but it will spin the 10" meats on the rear of my coupe.
I'm so happy I could sh--!
