cannot set minimum tps voltage with hotcam

my engine is "slightly modified" with an LT4 hotcam, so obviously things changed with idle, timing, etc. i set iac, but had to adjust it way in for it to run at about 750 with that cam. in doing so, i assume that is what skewed the tps, but the minimum voltage i can get on it is .62 and it will go over 4 at WOT. not s'posed to go over 4, from what i understand, and min voltage should be .54. anyhow, what's the trick to compensating for all this? help, please... almost done with this thing for now and obviously want it to be running right.

Re: cannot set minimum tps voltage with hotcam

you will have to play with the IAC to get the counts as low as possible 40 or less, at the same time have the TPS adjusted to as close as possible to .54v at idle..... 4 volts at WOT is to low, you want 4.5V at WOT.

Re: cannot set minimum tps voltage with hotcam

Has car been tuned in the chip? Ie commanding a stock 550 rpm idle when cam wants 750 is going to have some issues

Re: cannot set minimum tps voltage with hotcam

thanks for the replies. (1) i will just tweak the tps as close as i can get it right now. (2) has not been tuned w/chip yet - trying to get it close so that i can get it to the shop to do it for me. or will have to have one burnt for me, but i think they have the capability of doing it right there. i guess it will be good enough for now... for whatever reason, the t-stat housing decided to leak so will get that taken care of and hopefully be able to get it properly tuned in the near future.

its fine to go over 4v at WOT, mine used hit 4.29v Also the 90' and up tps is not adjustable. You are fine. At idle I was at .71 v. That is fine.

With the non adjustable TPS, the ECM takes the voltage it first sees key on as the base TPS voltage.
