while I was putting together the wiring harness on the gta I noticed that there is a red wire that looks cut. so I followed it down to the transmission and it plugs into the tailshaft. where is this wire supposed to go. the previous owner told me that the speedo did not work and now I know why

all I have is the long run of conduit with the red wire sticking out of it

vss wires are yellow and purple and connect to the ecm.

 

ok this wire goes to the tailshaft were the speedo gear is. its red and it looks to be cut. I opened up the harness and only found one skinny red wire and it does not seem to have a split in it just goes from one side of the harness to the other. what am I missing

I may have been mistaken that it was the vss wire

here is a pic and I was mistaken there are 2 wires coming off the vss and they are both red

could someone go to their tpi car and verify where these wires go

 

figured it out. those red wires were from a previous tranny job and were just extra wires. I found the original harness and plugged it in and all is fine
