Axle/Gears: 3.27
1988 tpi fuel pressure specs

what is the fuel pressure spec for a 1988 5.7 tpi engine.my is 43 psi with ignition on and when cranked it idles at 35 psi.

You didn't mention how you measured it so to be sure, you need to disconnect the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator when measuring it; 43.5 is what it should be at idle.

It should idle at 43 and your is at 35 idle I'd get another pressure gauge and if it stills. Shows 35 check your fuel filter

vacuum line disconnected and plugged, and the other side of the vacuum line at the plenum should be capped off too. Car idling in park and the pressure should measure 43.5 psi (stock).
