bog down or hesitation on accelleration

ok this has me completely baffled, i have been on this project for 8 months and i will try to be as specific as possible,i have a 85 305 tpi with a cold start injector , before i rebuilt the entire engine of the car i had a pre existing bog down, or hesitation problem, kinda as if the car isnt getting enough air , fuel, or restricted exhaust flow, i noticed the car would increase in rpm as i drove it and pressed the gas slowly and steadly, but if i floored it it was allmost like there was a rpm govenor. but if i was in park it would redline fine and then somtimes in park it would bog down, first thing i was told was a maf sensor, so i checked it and it had a ripped screen so i bought a new one $300, didnt fix the problem, next checked my distributor and rotor and cap and plugs and wires and correctly zeroed out the timing they all got replaced $500. then i started having idleing problems and black smoke, so at 160000 miles i said screw it i will just rebuild the engine, $3000 dollars everything got redone or replaced except for the crank, including all sensors except for the iac. new knock sensor $50 coolent sensors tps $60,cold start $100 etc... got the engine in and same exact bogging problem so replaced the injectors $550, replaced intake $150, replace water pump, radiator, goodyear hoses, $400 had the throttle body rebuilt $200, borla exhaust $1000, you get the picture come to find out i suddenly kept blowing fuel pump fuses, come to find out ecm was shorted somhow and blew a capacitor clean through the board, new ecm $110, also rechecked the entire wire harness wire by wire no shorts or bad relays, check and replaced all vaccume hoses and have check with smoke machine, i removed the catalitic converter thinking of exhaust restriction with no luck, ive cheked proper voltage on tps and reset iac several times. now she idles 1800 rpm and is barly able to accelerate. now heres the kicker when she shifts into 2nd 3rd gear when she is boging as soon as the shift happens it stops bogging down, and at high speed no bogging at all when i accelerate she will downshift and acclerate great, i have even tried adjusting my kickdown cable.

BTW: the comp is throwing no codes and no lights!!!!
please help <<< yes i know i am an idiot for ivesting this much money and i am running out of ideas

Re: bog down or hesitation on accelleration

A bog is usually caused by incorrect spark or fuel related.
What's your fuel pressure and how long does it hold?

Re: bog down or hesitation on accelleration

did you replace the coil??? Does the car idle good??? Sounds like a problem i had with a s-10 jimmy I had, it would idle fine but once you gave it gas to accelerate it would spit and sputter, I could barely do 45 on the interstate!!! I replaced the coil and it ran good ever since. The coil got weak and once cylinder pressure increased it made it harder and harder for the weak spark to jump the gap on the plugs.

Re: bog down or hesitation on accelleration

I have a similure issue on my 91 T/A 5.7 too me though it seemed more like the trans was the problem I recently had that rebuild by professionals so havn't dug any deeper into beyond theory. I could try the coil though my could have gone bad because my plug wires were bad and it was sparking through the wires to the coil case. did you guys experience surging at stop lights?

Before you go buy a coil, test it.

Re: bog down or hesitation on accelleration

I'm sorry to be the one that is telling you this, but sounds like you blew a lot of money already...... you need to refind top dead center.... and line up the 0 on your harmonic balancer to the timing tab. After you do this you need to hook up a timing light and advance or retard the timing until you have it running without sputtering and bogging down cause mine was doing the same thing until i fixed the timing and have had no problems since...
