Hard to start
Hard to start
i have a 92 Z28 and it is hard to start i just tuned it up with new plugs cap rotor wires. and still hard to start. Will a injector that has a bad seal cause this problem is there a way to check if this is the problem. Or is one or more of the coils low and need to be replaced HELP.

Re: Hard to start
What do you mean by hard to start? It cranks a long time before firing? Cranks slow? Sputters while cranking but doesn't stay running all the time? An injector seal will likely cause a fuel leak, possibly a vacuum leak. Either way fix it. Then you can rule it out. What coil are you referring to and what do you mean by 'low'? There should only be one ignition coil unless you converted to a LS1 ecm.

Re: Hard to start
How long does it crank? My initial guess is the fuel at the fuel rail is bleeding back in to the tank. Hook up a fuel pressure gauge and turn on the key. Doesn't need to be running. Your static pressure should be close to 43psi. Then turn the key off and see how long it takes for the pressure to drop off. It should hold most/some of the pressure for at least a half hour. If it doesn't then either you have a fuel pump that's letting fuel back or more likely a pulsator (its between the fuel pump and the sending unit, fuel passes through it) that is leaking fuel out. Either way the gas tank would have to come out. https://pontiworld.com.au/usgmsp/pro...oducts_id/5310

Re: Hard to start
When I start getting longer than "normal" crank times, I've found that replacing the fuel filter fixes it. I don't know why but it just does.
