Is this correct?

I recently bought a Gta -88 Its in very nice conditition so Im very happy with it. Now...I was going to check the air filter and noticed something that doesnt feel right....The round filter box has the inlet tube facing backwards-inwards towards the engine.
Is this the way its supposed to be or has it been changed?

Re: Is this correct?

I haven't looked at any of the ones I have lately but, if my memory serves me right, the pedestal should only let the 'filter box' sit on it one way. I could be wrong on that either way the inlet should point towards the front of the car in effort to get fresh air instead of warm engine compartment air.
