I recently told my brother-in-law that I would swap a motor in his 1992 RS, not realizing he didn't mean a direct swap. The motor that broke a rod and is now out was a 305 TBI, the replacement he dropped off is a 350, TPI, complete with underhood harness from ECM under dash to bulkhead connector on driver's side firewall and ECM from the donor car. I have laid the two harness (one in the car, the other hopefully to go in) side-by-side and noted some differences. First, I have no wires to the speed sensor on the transmission. Second, the fan in the car has a 2-pin connector, the donor harness has a 4-pin in a similar location in the harness. The harness has all of the relays and fuses in place, and I have determined where all connectors in the harness belong in the car.Third, and what appears to me to be the most difficult to decifer, is the differences in the bolt-together bulkhead connecto. When looking at the harness bulkhead connectors on the driver's side firewall, some of the terminals in either harness are not in the other, and it appears to be a little more than a simple "plug and play". Was wondering if anyone else has done this before and can shed any light on the situation for me, any help at all would be great.

You don't state what TPI ECM /wiring you are using .MAP or MAF ?Originally Posted by jsmall8683

He wanted to swap to TPI at the same time, I took a quick look at the harness and assumed there would not be a major issue making the swap.Originally Posted by Fireflier12
why don't you just use the 350 block? and use the TBI on top? VetteozThanks for the help so far with this project, I tried to reply to your post directly but it wouldn't let me for some reason. I have used the info you gave me links to, and got my wiring issues almost figured out. I have 1 issue left that I am looking for help with. The TPI engine and harness that I am putting in the 92 RS Camaro appear to be an 87 or 88, looking at wiring harness and diagrams. I have 1 wire in the engine harness that is orange in the E6 terminal of the C100 connector designated in the schematics as "Fuel Control (All Engines)". The C100 connector on the firewall side of the car does not have a terminal or wire in this position, so I need to figure out where it needs to go once inside the passenger compartment of the car. If anyone could tell me that would be great, seems like most people on here know these cars well, have found a lot of info just looking around already.

My wiring diagram is for a different year, but I suspect that it might be fused power for the fuel pump relay. Orange is typically Hot at all Time power. See if it ohms out to the orange wire on the fuel pump relay.
