Lt1 cam with 1.6 rockers

Ok, I've searched and search and can't find an answer but I'm sure I'm not the only who has came up with this idea. But can anyone tell me if I can use the Lt1 stock cam with 1.6 rockers with the l98 heads? It's a tpi 350 setup. I'm asking because I'm worried about valve clearance. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks!!

Re: Lt1 cam with 1.6 rockers

It really depends on which LT1 cam it is. Most of them come with about .450-.470 lift and IIRC L98 heads don't like to go much past that without a little work done I.E. beehive springs, thinner retainers, seals. So with 1.6 rockers that would put you around .480-.501 lift. Maybe other can give you a better answer.

Re: Lt1 cam with 1.6 rockers

I appreciate your info. That's along the lines of what I am looking for. So basically, if I want the 1.6 rockers, I need to have my heads worked on to accept that cam. Thanks!!
