open loop status ?
open loop status ?
Hi, recently acquired an 89-irocz with the 305 tpi engine. I also bought some data logging cables from moates. Long story short when I am logging with the car and everything reaches temp and proper time the car is supposed to go into closed loop. In the tuner pro dash list there is a LOOP STATUS bit that always shows OPEN. Does this mean the car is stuck in open loop? The car runs great and gets good mileage about 23 if I baby it and the TCC seems to be working properly and the O2 shows voltage. The car does smell a little rich but I believe that is because the previous owner removed the cat. Any ideas? Thanks

Re: open loop status ?
When static the O2 voltage should be about .45
The O2 voltage should rapidly change from low to high and back constantly when the sensor is operating correctly .If it doesn't the ECM will stay in open loop
