what to do with canister hard line

Hi all,

Since removing my engine ive noticed what looked like a fuel / brake pipe thats been capped off, it bolts up to the top of the transmission tunnel then runs around to the passenger side of the engine bay and its been capped off.

Im assuming this is the line that goes to the charcoal canister ? this canister thing wasnt even on my car when i bought it over 9 years ago so is it fine to just leave it alone ?

Re: what to do with canister hard line

There's a few threads on the topic.

No one seems to agree on what to do.

Some say just cap it.

Some say put a check valve like the one already on the other line at the tank.

Some say leave it open.

Some say keep the canister.
