Color wire

Hi ya'll newbie here!! I have a 91 formula TPI and one of the fuel injector connector broke. I am looking on ebay for a new pigtail but the color of wires aren't matching. My tpi Fuel injector connector wire colors looks to be 1 green wire and 1 brown with black stripe wire. On ebay the colors are 1 green wire with 1 pink and black stripe wire. Does it matter the color of the pigtail wires aren't matching? The one on ebay is a different color. Or should I just stick with the color wires that's on the my engine already? Any info ya'll can provide is appreciated thanks.

Sure it is! Electrical current doesn't like green wire. Now the color of the wire's insulation doesn't matter.

* For the humor-impared, "green wire" is corroded copper, which is a problem.

Re: Color wire

Not sure what is broken but you can sometimes repair what you have, or if the clip latch is broken then you could pull your wires out and slip them in the new connector. Check out your local junkyard, you should be able to get something similar, possibly even from a different car. Just make sure that the wires are the same gauge (thickness).

Here's a random vid I found explaining it:

If you do splice wires instead, try to stagger them if you can so you don't get a lump in one spot. This also helps ensure that they don't ever have a chance of contacting each other.
