I know i should know this, but i need help!

Hi all, i'm in the process of reassembling the new 350 TPI in my 87 trans am. I have everything together, intake all assembled, just need spark plug wires, oil, and antifreeze, and one other thing. I have somehow forgotten where a couple coolant hoses go.

I can see where the coolant goes from the intake manifold to the throttle body, but i not using the throttle body coolant. I have a "bastard" hose hanging from the heater valve which looks like it originally came from the exit of the throttle body, and i also have a metal pipe on the passenger side body which needs a hook up.

I'm wondering how to hook this up? i have 3 possible pipe hook ups, but i just cant seem to figure it out lol. can anyone help me?

I'll take a shot here. Normally, the water flows from the intake, through the throttle body, then to the heater control valve. Since you've bypassed the throttle body, you need to run the line from the intake manifold to the heater control valve. The return from the heater goes to the radiator. The third "Metal" hose you talked about- could that be the AIR valve and pipe running down to the Cat?

Re: I know i should know this, but i need help!

the way it looks is the intake manifold goes to the throttle body, throttle body exits and goes to the heater valve. the heater valve then goes into the heater core, exits it and into the metal pipe which is on the body, it then has a "T" built in where it goes back into the heater valve. the metal pipe then continues straight after the "T" and exits facing the radiator.

so with the throttle body eliminated, it appears i go from the intake manifold, to the heater valve. but then i dont know where the metal pipe is plumbed to.

i took out the whole AIR system, and i dont have a cat anymore.

This will probably confuse the issue more but this is the heater hose routing with AC and the factory oil cooler. It's hard to get the entire routing in one photo.

ah, perfect, thank you guys.....after seeing it, i feel really really dumb now. before i go and make myself feel more dumb, anyone know of where i can find similar threads that can point out where all the vacuum lines go? i'm starting to realize that a lot of the thin plastic ones broke and now i dont know where they all went.
