Hey everyone, this is my first thread.

I bought a 1989 IROC-Z 5.7L 350. Here is my situation. The car was not started for over 5 years. The engine turns over but will not start. When i spray staring fluid through throttle body it will start but die right away so i know i have a fuel issue.

Things I have done and tested.
- Replaced fuel
- Replaced fuel Pump and filter.
- Replaced Distributor Spark Module
- Replaced Battery
- Tested fuel pressure i have 47 psi at fuel rail.
- Tested spark i have spark at all cylinders
- Tested fuel injectors they are all over 14 ohms except for 2 which i have disconnected.
- Tested Injector Pulse with Noid light seems to flash extremely fast.

I really need help if you can offer any ideas they will be appreciated.

 

Your injectors very well could be junk (especially if originals) due to the old gas being in them and clogging. They may ohm out, but that doesn't means they aren't varnished shut.

 

Yeah that may very well be the case because i dont hear them tick when i crank it. Also with the noid light it seems to flash really fast. Also my fuel pressure is really good.

 

Had the same problem years ago after converting to TPI. Sprayed starter fluid and bam.. fired only to die after it burned off all the fluid. Fuel pressure good, spark good.. Yep, the injectors that came with the used system I bought were junk. New set of Injectors and she fired right up. Good luck!

 

Yeah im going to just swap them out because i would rather have new ones anyway. Ill update everyone once i have received them.
