Just wondering if anybody has had this problem.I have 86 with 305
It starts good when cold after it warms up its hard to start.Would it be mass flow sencor

Mines a year newer but the same engine and I'm having the same problem. Even a few hours later I may have to tap the gas to assist the start. Then, when it does start, it blows a lot of fairly clear colored smoke that smells like raw fuel. I've heard fuel diaphragms could be the problem and I've also heard that the starter solenoid fails because of excessive heat from the nearby pipe. I'm interested in reading the follow up responses from those with or formerly with the same issue.

 

Hot soak after sitting. Injectors leak down, fill the cylinders, hard to restart after sitting awhile, smokes on start-up....all signs of leaking injectors. Do a leakdown pressure check of the injectors. Then order a new set of Bosch from Southbay and your problem will be solved.

i was having a hard start each time due to the FPR being bad. i did a leakdown test and found that to be the problem. I still have an issue because my injectors are too big so i need some smaller ones
